Spiced Butter Cookies

This is the perfect cookie for the upcoming holiday season!

Ingredients

Softened butter 1 Cup (16 tbs) (250 mL)
Granulated sugar 1 Cup (16 tbs) (250 mL)
Salt 1 Pinch
Eggs 1
Ground cinnamon 1 Teaspoon
Pure vanilla extract 1 Teaspoon
Ground nutmeg 1/4 Teaspoon
Flour 2 Cup (32 tbs) (500 mL)

Directions

GETTING READY

1. Preheat oven to 350 degree F or 180 degree C.

2. Line baking sheets with parchment paper and set aside.

MAKING

3. In a mixing bowl, cream butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.

4. Beat in salt, egg, cinnamon, vanilla and nutmeg.

5. Gradually beat in flour on low speed until well mixed. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour.

6. Shape dough into 1-inch balls. Place on parchment lined baking sheets. Gently flatten cookies with a fork that is dipped in icing sugar.

7. Bake for about 12 minutes or until lightly browned around edges.

8. Cool cookies on baking sheets for 1 minute, then cool completely on wire racks.
