Cookie bars are a great treat to bake up for a bake sale, serve at parties or give as a gift.
All purpose flour | 4 Cup (64 tbs) | |
Baking soda | 2 Teaspoon | |
Salt | 3/4 Teaspoon | |
Butter | 1 1/2 Cup (24 tbs) , softened | |
Granulated sugar | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
Brown sugar (packed) | 1 1/2 Cup (24 tbs) | |
Eggs | 2 , room temperature | |
Vanilla extract | 1 Teaspoon | |
Chocolate chunks | 6 Ounce | |
Butterscotch chips | 6 Ounce | |
Non stick cooking spray | 1 Teaspoon (Optional) |
GETTING READY
1. Preheat oven to 350 degree F.
2. Line a 12x18 baking sheet with parchment paper and spray it with non stick cooking spray.
MAKING
3. In a large bowl, combine flour, baking soda and salt. Mix well and set aside.
4. In a large mixing bowl, cream together butter, sugar and brown sugar for 4 minutes.
5. Turn the mixer to a low speed and add eggs, one at a time and beat after each addition.
6. Pour vanilla extract, scrap the sides as and when needed and beat well.
7. Slowly add in the dry ingredients and mix together.
8. Add in the chocolate chunks and butterscotch chips. Stir to combine.
9. Place the cookie dough on the baking sheet and spread.
10. Pop in the preheated oven and bake for 30 minutes or until lightly golden brown.
11. Remove from oven and allow the cookie to cool in pan. Lift and remove it from the pan, transfer it to a cutting board and cut into bars.
SERVING
12. Serve and enjoy!
TIPS
Dust powder sugar over the top after cutting.
