These cookies are so easy to make and taste very good! This recipe makes about 40 cookies. I made this video for the injured people of Boston. I hope this makes you feel better.:) My thoughts and prayers are with you all!

Ingredients

Butter 1 Cup (16 tbs) (room temparature)
Confectioners sugar 1 1/2 Cup (24 tbs)
Eggs 1 (room temparature)
Vanilla extract 1 Tablespoon
Flour 3 Cup (48 tbs)
Baking soda 1/2 Teaspoon
Salt 1/2 Teaspoon
Red food coloring 2 Drop
Blue food coloring 2 Drop
Red sugar crystals 3 Tablespoon
Blue sugar crystals 3 Tablespoon
Sugar 1 Tablespoon

Directions

GETTING READY

1. In a mixing bowl, add in the butter and confectioners’ sugar. Mix with stand mixer until light and fluffy.

2. Add in the egg and mix well, followed by vanilla extract. Incorporate all the ingredients well.

3. In a separate bowl, sift the flour and add in baking soda and salt. Mix well.

4. Gradually add in the flour mixture, in small batches to the butter mixture and mix well on high speed.

5. Separate the dough into 3 equal parts and place in different bowls.

6. Add in the red food coloring to the dough and mix well. Set aside.

7. In another portion of the dough add in blue food coloring and mix well. Set aside.

8. Place the red dough over the parchment paper and role to and forth. Sprinkle red sugar crystal and roll again. Sprinkle some more crystal over the dough and set aside over the parchment paper.

9. Roll the white dough over the parchment paper and place with red dough. Followed by rolling the blue dough, sprinkle blue sugar crystal on both sides.

10. Join all three rolls and sprinkle some more sugar crystals. Wrap into the parchment paper and place in refrigerator for 30 minutes.

11. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with a parchment paper.

MAKING

12. Slice the dough into 1 inch pieces and place over the prepared baking sheet.

13. Sprinkle blue sugar crystal over the blue part and tap with fingers. Repeat the process with red sugar crystals, and white sugar.

14. Bake for 8 – 10 minutes, until the bottom is golden brown.

SERVING

15. Serve Red White and Blue Cookies with milk, coffee or tea.
