Spritz Wreaths

All purpose flour
Salt 1/4 Teaspoon
Butter/Margarine 3/4 Cup (12 tbs) , softened (1 1/2 Sticks)
Sugar 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)
Egg yolk 1
Vanilla extract/Almond extract 1 Teaspoon
Cinnamon candies 1/4 Cup (4 tbs)
Angelica 1/4 Cup (4 tbs)
Multicolored nonpareils 1/4 Cup (4 tbs) (Miniature)



1. Prepare 2 ungreased cookie sheets

2. Set these cookie sheets in the refrigerator until ready to use.

3. Preheat the oven to 375F.


4. In a large bowl, tip in the flour, salt and mix well

5. In the large bowl of a portable mixer, tip in the butter, sugar, egg yolk and vanilla and beat the mix until smooth and fluffy.

6. Add the flour mixture to the bowl and pulse again till a smooth mixture is formed.

7. Remove the dough and then place a star disk in cookie press. Fill cookie press with dough.

8. Push the dough onto the chilled cookie sheet to make 12-inch strip.

9. Cut each strip into 3 parts and then wrap each strip into a circle. Ideally, these wreaths can be about 1 1/2 inches apart.

10. Decorate these wreaths with cinnamon candies, bits of angelica, and nonpareils.

11. Bake cookies 8 to 10 minutes or until light golden.

12. Remove to wire rack and allow them to cool completely. These can be frozen by wrapping them in foil.


13. Remove as many cookies as need for serving and set them on a serving platter to reach room temperature.
