Boiling water 1/4 Cup (4 tbs)
Unsweetened cocoa powder 6 Tablespoon
Butter 1 Cup (16 tbs) (Room Temperature)
Vanilla extract 1 Teaspoon
Sugar 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)
Egg yolk 1
Flour 2 Cup (32 tbs)
Baking powder 1/2 Teaspoon
Salt 1/4 Teaspoon


In a small bowl, thoroughly mix boiling water and cocoa; set aside to cool.

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

In a large mixer bowl, cream butter and vanilla.

Add sugar gradually, beating until light and fluffy.

Add egg yolk; beat thoroughly.

Stir in cocoa mixture.

Combine flour, baking powder and salt.

Add to creamed mixture 1/4 at a time, mixing until blended after each addition.

Put dough through a cookie press onto an ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake 12 minutes.

Cool on wire racks.
