Unsalted butter 8 Ounce , softened (2 Sticks)
Firmly packed dark brown sugar 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Egg 1
Vanilla extract 1 Teaspoon
Salt 1/2 Teaspoon
Flour 1 3/4 Cup (28 tbs)
Semisweet chocolate chunks 9 Ounce , very coarsely chopped (1 1/2 Cups)


1. Preheat oven to 400°F. In a medium bowl, beat butter and brown sugar with an electric mixer on medium speed until creamy. Beat in egg, vanilla, and salt until well blended.

2. Add flour and beat until blended. Stir in chopped chocolate. Drop heaping teaspoons of dough 2 inches apart onto greased cookie sheets.

3. Bake 7 to 9 minutes, just until edges start to brown. Let stand 2 minutes on cookie sheets, then remove to a rack and let cool completely.
