Val's Almond Macaroons

Easy to make and gluten free macaroon cookies...recipe from Val in Kirby Fleetham, England. Now a favorite afternoon tea cookie of Betty Bannerman Busciglio.

Ground almonds 1 1/2 Cup (24 tbs)
Sugar 14 Tablespoon
Almond extract 1/2 Teaspoon
Sliced almonds 1 Tablespoon
Glaced cherries 16 Small (for garnish)
