Chocolate Chip Cookies using Eggs

Chocolate chips 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Baking soda 1 Teaspoon
Soft butter 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)
Brown sugar 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)
Castor sugar 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)
Egg 1
Vanilla essence 1 Teaspoon
Salt 1 Pinch
Plain flour 1 1/2 Cup (24 tbs) (maida)
Roughly chopped walnuts 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)



1. Combine the baking soda with 1 tsp of hot water in a small bowl, mix well and keep aside.2. Combine the butter, castor sugar and brown sugar in a deep bowl and mix well using a spatula.3. Add the egg and beat it with an electric beater for 1 minute.4. Add the vanilla essence, prepared baking soda- water mixture and salt and mix well with help of a spatula.5. Add the plain flour gradually and mix well.6. Add the chocolate chips and walnuts and mix well.7. With help of an ice-cream scooper, scoop the mixture into small balls and place them on a baking tray at regular intervals and bake in a pre-heated oven at 180°C (360°F) for 40 to 45 minutes.8. Cool on a wire rack and store in an air-tight container.
