Betty demonstrates how to make a Chocolate Chip Iron Skillet Cookie. This is a delicious and fun way to serve chocolate chip cookies.
Butter | 6 Tablespoon , softened | |
Firmly packed light brown sugar | 3/4 Cup (12 tbs) | |
Egg | 1 | |
Vanilla extract | 1 Teaspoon | |
All | purpose flour | |
Baking powder | 1 1/2 Teaspoon | |
Salt | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
Semisweet chocolate chips | 1 1/2 Cup (24 tbs) |
Making
In a large mixing bowl, mix butter and flour, using a large spoon.
Stir in egg and vanilla and mix until smooth.
Combine baking powder and salt with flour and add to mixture. Stir well. Fold in chocolate chips.
Grease and flour a 10-inch iron skillet. (You may use any ovenproof skillet.)
Spoon batter into prepared skillet and spread until top is even.
Bake at 350 degrees (F) until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, about 15 minutes.
Let cool in skillet for 10 minutes.
Serving
Serve directly from warm skillet, or turn out onto cooling rack, cool completely, then invert the single large cookie onto a nice serving plate.
Cut in wedges to serve.
