For the sugar cookie bars: | ||

Granulated sugar | 1/2 Cup (8 tbs) | |

Vanilla extract | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
Almond extract | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
All purpose flour | 1 1/2 Cup (24 tbs) | |
Baking powder | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
Baking soda | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
Salt | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
For the vanilla buttercream frosting: | ||
Unsalted butter | 1/4 Cup (4 tbs) , softened | |
Confectioners' sugar | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
Vanilla extract | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
Milk | 2 Tablespoon | |
Pink food coloring | 2 Drop (optional) | |
Sprinkles | 2 Tablespoon (optional) |
GETTING READY:
Preheat oven to 375°F/180°C.
Line baking pan with parchment paper.
MAKING:
In a bowl, cream together butter and sugar. Add eggs, vanilla extract, almond extract and beat well.
In a bowl, combine flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt and mix well.
Add to butter mixture and whisk well.
Spread dough evenly onto the pan and pop into oven.
Bake for 8-10 minutes until golden brown. Allow to cool completely before cutting.
For frosting, beat butter in a bowl.
Add confectioners’ sugar and milk alternatively (in small batches) and mix well. Add food colouring if desired.
Take the cookie slab out of pan and spread frosting over it. Drizzle sprinkles over it and cut into 16-20 pieces.
