A quick and simple recipe on steam clams. A perfect appetizer for summer time. I always enjoy these at sunset with a good beer.
Shallot | 1/2 , diced | |
Garlic | 6 Clove (30 gm) , chopped | |
Unsalted butter | 1/2 Cup (8 tbs) (1 stick) | |
Clams | 1 Pound | |
White wine | 1 1/2 Cup (24 tbs) (chardonnay) |
MAKING
1. In a cast iron pot on the grill, add butter. Add the shallots and saute for a few minutes.
2. Put the garlic and continue to saute for a few more minutes or till the shallot become translucent.
3. Put the clams and pour the wine. Cover the pot and cook for 10 minutes or till the clams open up. Discard the closed clams.
SERVING
4. In a serving platter, serve the drunken clams with wine and French baguette.
