Chinese Style Hamburger Hash

Ingredients

Ground beef 1 Pound
Salad oil/Shortening 2 Tablespoon
Onions 2 Medium , chopped
Sliced celery 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Canned mushroom soup 10 1/2 Ounce (1 Can)
Canned cream of chicken soup 10 1/2 Ounce (1 Can)
Warm water 1 1/2 Cup (24 tbs)
Uncooked rice 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)
Soy sauce 1/4 Cup (4 tbs)
Pepper 1/4 Teaspoon
Chow mein noodles 3 Ounce (Crisp Ones, 1 Can)

Directions

Brown meat in oil until slightly crumbly.

Add onions, celery, mushroom and chicken soups, and warm water.

Stir in rice, soy sauce, and pepper.

Turn into a lightly greased casserole (about 2-quart size).

Cover and bake in a moderate oven (350°) for 30 minutes; remove cover and continue baking for 30 minutes longer.

Cover the mixture with the crisp chow mein noodles and continue baking for 15 minutes more.

Makes 8 servings.
