Chinese Ground Beef

Ground beef 1 1/2 Pound
Onion 1 Large , chopped
Celery 3 Cup (48 tbs) , chopped
Water chestnuts 1 Can (10 oz)
Chop suey vegetables 1 Can (10 oz)
Mushrooms 1 Can (10 oz)
Bean sprouts 1 Can (10 oz) , drained
Molasses 1 Tablespoon
Cornstarch 1 Tablespoon
Soy sauce To Taste
Chow mein noodles 1 Cup (16 tbs) (Crisp)
Cooked rice 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Salt To Taste
Pepper To Taste


Brown beef with salt, pepper, onion and celery.

Cook, covered, for about 5 minutes.

Drain water chestnuts; cut into thin slices.

Add chop suey vegetables, mushrooms, bean sprouts and water chestnuts; bring to a boil.

Mix molasses, cornstarch and 2 cups water; blend well.

Stir molasses mixture into beef mixture gradually; cook, stirring constantly, until thickened.

Add soy sauce; serve over noodles and rice.
