How To Make Sweet & Sour Chicken Restaurant Style Chinese Main Course Dish

Deep fried Chicken fritters dunked in sweet sour sauce.. This is most amazingly influenced by Chinese flavors.

Ingredients

For the batter
Refined flour 1/3 Cup (5.33 tbs) (maida)
Cornstarch 1/3 Cup (5.33 tbs)
Egg 1
Soy sauce 1 Teaspoon
Salt and pepper To Taste
Chopped ginger and garlic 1/2 Teaspoon
Boneless chicken cubes 300 Gram
For the sweet & sour sauce
Ketchup 1 Tablespoon
White vinegar 1 Tablespoon
Soy sauce 1 Teaspoon
Cornstarch/Corn flour 2 Tablespoon
Sugar 2 Tablespoon
Water 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Other ingredients
Chopped ginger and garlic 1 Teaspoon
Onion 1 Large (cut into cubes)
Carrot 1 Small , dice
Cabbage 1/4 (cut into 1/2 inch thick pieces)
Baby corn 1 (cut into diagonally)
Pineapple chunks 5
Salt and pepper To Taste
Chopped spring onion 2 Tablespoon
Oil 1 Cup (16 tbs) (For frying and gravy)

Directions

Making

1. To prepare the chicken: Combine "For the batter" ingredients in a large bowl.

2. Add chicken pieces to batter and stir to coat.

3. Fry in oil for 7-8 minutes or until golden brown and chicken is cooked thoroughly.

4. Drain on paper towels and keep aside.

5. To prepare the sauce: Stir all ingredients together from "For the sweet & sour sauce" section and keep aside.

6. In a large skillet or wok, heat 2 Tbsp oil over medium-high heat.

7. Put onion and saute for while.

8. Add carrots, cabbage and baby corn. Stir fry 2 minutes. We do not want to make the veggies brown.

9. Pour the sauce mixture and pineapple. Bring to a boil to thicken.

10. Add chicken pieces and stir to coat.

11. Put salt and pepper to taste. if required.

12. Finish off with chopped spring onion.

Serving

13. Serve over white or fried rice and enjoy!
