My Easy Beef Hot Pot is a wonderfully quick weeknight main meal that can be made in around 30 minutes! Chunks of beef are browned and combined with onion, garlic, carrots and tomatoes, then simmered until tender and bursting with flavour. Served with potatoes and mixed veg, this classic hot pot recipe will become a regular must make at your house - give it a go!
Beef | 1 Kilogram , cut into chunks | |
Olive oil | 4 Tablespoon | |
Brown onions | 2 Small | |
Carrots | 2 Large | |
Garlic | 2 Clove (10 gm) , minced | |
Canned diced tomatoes | 400 Gram (1 can) | |
Worcestershire sauce | 1/4 Cup (4 tbs) | |
Water | 1/2 Cup (8 tbs) | |
Chopped fresh thyme | 1 Tablespoon | |
Salt | To Taste | |
Pepper | To Taste |
MAKING:
In a pan, heat olive oil and add beef to it.
Brown the beef in batches. Once done, transfer the beef to separate plate.
Heat some more oil and saute garlic and onion in it.
Add carrots and cook until softened.
Add diced tomatoes, worcestershire sauce, thyme, water and stir well.
Bring to boil and add beef pieces. Stir well and cover with lid.
Allow to simmer for 10-15 minutes.
Season with salt and pepper. Simmer for another 10 minutes or until sauce thickens.
