Minced sweet pineapple | 1 Tablespoon | |
Star anise | 1 , ground | |
Salt | 1 Tablespoon | |
Sugar | 5 Tablespoon | |
Honey | 2 Tablespoon | |
Peanut oil | 2 Tablespoon | |
Hoisin sauce | 2 Tablespoon | |
Ground bean sauce | 1 Teaspoon | |
Tomato puree | 2 Tablespoon | |
Ketchup | 5 Tablespoon | |
5 spice powder | 1/2 Tablespoon | |
Orange juice | 2 Tablespoon | |
Fresh ground pepper | 1 Teaspoon | |
Paprika | 1/2 Tablespoon |
GETTING READY:
For the sauce, in a large bowl, combine garlic, pineapple, star anise, 5 spice, paprika, salt, honey, peanut oil, hoisin sauce, sugar, bean sauce, tomato puree, ketchup, orange juice, pepper and paprika. Mix well for the ingredients to blend.
Combine spare rib pieces with prepared sauce in a ziplock bag and allow it for marinating for 6 hours to overnight.
Preheat grill to 300-350°F.
MAKING:
Arrange the spare rib pieces over the grill.
Grill for 45-50 minutes.
