Baked Chicken Milano

Ingredients

Fine dry breadcrumbs 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)
Grated parmesan 1/4 Cup (4 tbs)
Dried whole basil 1/4 Teaspoon
Dried whole oregano 1/4 Teaspoon
Chicken breast halves 6 , skinned
Egg 1 , beaten
Vegetable oil 3 Tablespoon
Tomato sauce 8 Ounce (1 Can)
Spaghetti sauce mix 1 1/2 Ounce (1 Package)
Mozzarella cheese slice 6 Ounce (6, 1 Ounce Each)

Directions

GETTING READY

1. Pre-heat oven to 350° F.

MAKING

2. In a medium bowl, combine basil, oregano, Parmesan cheese and bread crumbs.

3. Dip chicken in beaten egg, and coat in breadcrumb mixture.

4. Heat a large skillet with oil to 325°; brown chicken in oil on both sides.

5. Take away chicken from skillet, and drain well on paper towels.

6. On a lightly greased 12- x 8- x 2-inch baking dish, arrange chicken .

7. In a bowl, combine tomato sauce and spaghetti sauce mix; stir well, and spoon over chicken.

8. Cover and bake for 25 minutes.

9. Take the dish from oven, and keep 1 slice mozzarella cheese over each breast half.

10. Bake, uncovered for an additional 5 to 10 minutes or until cheese melts.

SERVING

11. Serve hot. Yields 6 servings.
