Smoked BBQ Chicken with a Simple to make BBQ sauce

Let's learn to make fabulous BBQ chicken.


Whole chicken 2
Oil 1 Tablespoon , divided (For greasing)
For rub
Lemon pepper 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)
Season salt 1 Tablespoon
Garlic powder 1 Tablespoon
Basil 1 Tablespoon
For bbq sauce
Ketchup 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)
Brown sugar 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Worcheshire sauce 1/4 Cup (4 tbs)
Soy sauce 1/4 Cup (4 tbs)
Liquid smoke flavoring 2 Tablespoon
Hot sauce 1 Tablespoon
Mustard 2 Tablespoon
Vegetable oil 2 Tablespoon
Black pepper 1/2 Tablespoon



Preheat the grill to 250 degrees F.



For rub – in a bowl, add in all the ingredients and set aside.

Pour the oil over the chicken and rub; season the chicken with rub and spread evenly.

Place on the grill; meanwhile, prepare the sauce – in a large bowl, mix together all the ingredients.

When chicken is cooked for an hour, start coating the meat with BBQ sauce and then after every 15 – 20 minutes until done.

Chicken is done when internal temperature reaches 165 – 170 degrees F.



Slice the chicken and serve with some more BBQ sauce if desired.
