Going out for dinner so often means having that extra special treat with your meal. This recipe was requested by readers just like yourself. I think that the TGI Friday's Mozzarella Cheese Sticks are extra special because the breading is thick and flavorful. So here is my version of this recipe. You will need to buy mozzarella cheese from the grocery store, but don't use the buffalo style, because it will be too soft. Buy the cheese in the brick and it will work just fine. Be sure to serve this one up with your favorite marinara sauce.

Ingredients

Mozzarella cheese 1 Pound
Flour 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Corn starch 1/4 Cup (4 tbs)
Italian seasoned bread crumbs 2 Cup (32 tbs)
Organic whole milk 1 Cup (16 tbs)
For frying
Vegetable oil 1 Cup (16 tbs) (For deep frying)

Directions

GETTING READY

1. Cut cheese sticks into long slices approximately 3/8 inch thick.

2. In a bowl, blend together the flour and cornstarch.

3. Place each cheese plank into the flour, then dip into a bowl of whole milk, and then dip into the bread crumbs. Shake off excess bread crumbs and place mozzarella stick on a wire rack to dry.

4. Repeat until all cheese sticks have been dipped once.

5. After all of the cheese sticks have been dipped once, place them back one by one into milk, then into bread crumbs for the second time, and shake off the bread crumbs.

MAKING

6. Preheat vegetable oil to 350 F for frying.

7. Drop cheese sticks into hot oil and fry until golden brown. (This should take no longer than 1 minute)

8. Remove the fried cheese sticks from oil and place on a wire rack to cool.

SERVING

9. Serve with your favorite marinara sauce and enjoy!

TIPS

Discard the flour mixture after the cheese sticks are coated once. Do not coat the cheese with the flour mixture a second time.
