Cheese Spritz

Butter/Margarine 2/3 Cup (10.67 tbs) , softened
Shredded sharp cheddar cheese 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)
Egg 1
Cayenne 1/8 Teaspoon
Dry mustard 1/4 Teaspoon
Sugar 1/2 Teaspoon
All purpose flour 1 3/4 Cup (28 tbs)
Poppy seed/Sesame seed / pimento 1 Tablespoon


In bowl of electric mixer, beat together butter and cheese.

Add egg, cayenne, mustard, salt, and sugar; beat until well blended.

Add flour and stir until smoothly blended.

Form dough into a ball.

Put part of dough at a time into a spritz cooky press and shape cookies on baking sheets. or chill dough 1 hour, roll on floured board, cut with fancy cooky cutters, and place on baking sheets.

Decorate with poppy seed, sesame seed, or pimento.

Bake, uncovered, in a 375° oven for about 12 minutes or until lightly browned.

Serve warm or cooled.
