Cheese and Macaroni is my favorite casserole. This recipe is my grandmothers, and I just love this simple to make casserole. It contains hamburger, pasta, provolone cheese, bacon, and more.
Ground beef | 1 Pound | |
Salt | 1 1/2 Teaspoon | |
Pepper | 1/8 Teaspoon | |
Granulated garlic | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
Oregano | 1 Teaspoon | |
Onion | 1 Medium , finely chopped | |
Macaroni | 2/3 Pound , cooked, drained (or 2 packages) | |
Bacon | 1/4 Pound , diced | |
Tomato sauce | 16 Ounce (2 8 ounce cans) | |
Canned mushroom | 6 Ounce (4 | |
Provolone cheese | 1 Cup (16 tbs) (use slices) | |
Cheddar cheese | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
Non stick spray | 1/2 Teaspoon (for greasing) |
GETTING READY
1. Preheat oven to 375 degree F.
2. Grease a casserole dish with non-stick spray.
MAKING
3. In a pan, brown beef with salt, pepper, garlic powder, oregano, and onion. Transfer it into a bowl with cooked macaroni.
4. In the same pan, cook bacon until done but not crispy. Add it to the bowl with beef and macaroni.
5. Add tomato sauce and mushroom. Mix well.
6. Into the greased casserole dish, spread half of the meat mixture. Top it with a layer of provolone, followed by cheddar, remaining meat mixture, and another layer of provolone and cheddar.
7. Pop the dish in oven and bake for 25-30 minutes.
SERVING
8. Serve hot and enjoy!
