Finely shredded sharp cheddar cheese | 3/4 Cup (12 tbs) | |
Ripe olives | 1/2 Cup (8 tbs) | |
Finely chopped onion | 1/4 Cup (4 tbs) | |
Mayonnaise | 1/4 Cup (4 tbs) | |
Curry powder | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
Pumpernickel bread loaf | 1 Small |
Making
In a medium-sized bowl, mix together Cheddar cheese, ripe olives, onion, mayonnaise, and curry powder.
Spread on party rye or pumpernickel bread, which has been cut diagonally.
Broil at 400 degrees (F) in a preheated oven for 5 minutes.
Change oven setting to highest temperature and broil for 30 seconds longer.
Remove from oven when cheese is bubbly and beginning to brown.
Serving
Serve immediately while hot (or warm).
