Gluten-Free Chocolate Sponge Cake

If you thought making gluten-free cakes was an impossible task, you will love this jowar flour version of a basic chocolate sponge. Decorate this healthy option with whipped cream, cherries, chocolate garnishes and no one will know the difference!

Ingredients

White millet flour 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Cocoa powder 4 Tablespoon
Baking powder 1 Teaspoon
Fresh thick curd 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)
Milk 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)
Powdered sugar 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Melted butter 4 Tablespoon
Vanilla essence 1/2 Teaspoon (Optional)
For greasing and dusting
Melted butter 2 Teaspoon (For greasing)
Jowar flour 2 Tablespoon (For dusting)
Water 2 Tablespoon

Directions

GETTING READY

1. Preheat oven to 180F. Grease a baking tin with butter and dust with white millet flour.

MAKING

2. In a bowl, sieve together white millet flour, cocoa powder and baking powder. In another bowl, add curd, milk, powdered sugar, melted butter and vanilla essence, using a whisk, mix well.

3. Add the flour mixture to the curd mixture, using a spatula fold in the ingredients together. Pour the mixture into the tin. Bake at 180F for 50 to 55 minutes.

SERVING

4. Decorate as desired cut into pieces and serve.
