Ingredients

Margarine 1/3 Cup (5.33 tbs)
Sugar 2/3 Cup (10.67 tbs)
White flour 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Whole wheat flour 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Cinnamon 1/2 Teaspoon
Ground cloves 1/2 Teaspoon
Salt 1/2 Teaspoon
Baking soda 1 Teaspoon , dissolved in 2/3 cup
Apple 1 Cup (16 tbs) , finely chopped
Raisins 1/3 Cup (5.33 tbs)
Walnuts 1/3 Cup (5.33 tbs)
Egg whites 2 , whipped

Directions

MAKING

1) Into a bowl, add the margarine and sugar and cream together using the electric beater

2) Then add in the flours alternating with water and apple pieces and mix well

3) Dust the raisins and nuts with flour before adding to the batter

4) Fold in the egg whites

5) Pour the batter into a 8 inch square non stick pan

6) Bake for 40 minutes at 350 F

7) Serve warm
