Apple Cider Pound Cake

Ingredients

Softened butter 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Shortening 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)
Sugar 3 Cup (48 tbs)
Eggs 6
All purpose flour
Baking powder 1/2 Teaspoon
Salt 1/2 Teaspoon
Apple pie spice 1 1/2 Teaspoon
Apple cider 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Vanilla extract 1 Teaspoon

Directions

GETTING READY

1. Start by preheating the oven to 325° F

MAKING

2. First, cream the butter and shortening, and gradually add sugar, beat till light and fluffy

3. Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition

4. Combine flour, baking powder, salt, and apple pie spice, also add to creamed mixture alternately with apple cider, also stir in vanilla

5. In a greased and floured 10-inch tube pan, pour the batter

6. Finally bake at 325° for 1 hour and 20 minutes

7. Cool in pan for 10 to 15 minutes, and remove from pan, and cool completely on a rack

SERVING

8. Serve with hot cocoa
