Dark Mocha Chocolate Cake

Butter/Margarine 1 Tablespoon
Fine dry breadcrumbs 2 Tablespoon
Unsweetened chocolate square 4 Ounce (4, 1 Ounce Each)
Water 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)
Instant coffee granules 1/4 Cup (4 tbs)
Butter/Margarine 1/2 Cup (8 tbs) , softened
Sugar 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Eggs 2
All purpose flour
Baking powder 2 Teaspoon
Ground cinnamon 1 Teaspoon
Ground cloves 1/4 Teaspoon
Milk 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)
Vanilla extract 1 Teaspoon
Cinnamon cream frosting 1 Cup (16 tbs)



1. Grease two 8-inch cakepans with 1 tablespoon butter, sprinkle breadcrumbs on bottom and sides of pans and set aside.

2. Preheat the oven at 350°.


3. In top of a double boiler combine chocolate, water and coffee granules and bring water to a boil.

4. Reducing the heat to low cook until chocolate melts.

5. In a bowl cream 12 cups butter and gradually add sugar, beating well.

6. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition and continue beating well adding chocolate mixture.

7. In a bowl combine flour and next 3 ingredients.

8. At low speed of electric mixer without overbeating, beat adding to the creamed mixture alternately with milk, beginning and ending with flour mixture.

9. Into prepared cakepans pour batter and bake in the preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.

10. Cool in pans for 10 minutes, remove layers from pans and let it cool completely.

To make the Cinnamon-Cream Frosting

11. In a bowl beat whipping cream until foamy gradually add sugar, coffee granules and cinnamon, beating until stiff peaks form.


12. Spread Cinnamon-Cream Frosting between layers and on top of cake only.


13. Serve at once or refrigerate until ready to serve.
