Gingerbread Waffles

Ingredients

Sifted flour 2 Cup (32 tbs)
Salt 1 Teaspoon
Baking soda 1 1/4 Teaspoon
Ginger 2 1/2 Teaspoon
Cinnamon 1 1/4 Teaspoon
Cloves 1/4 Teaspoon
Dark molasses 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Sour milk 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)
Egg 1 , slightly beaten
Oil 1/3 Cup (5.33 tbs)
Egg white 1 , stiffly beaten

Directions

MAKING

1) Into a bowl, sift together flour, salt, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon and cloves.

2) In another bowl, mix together molasses, milk and beaten egg.

3) Mix the wet ingredients into the dry. Add in the oil and mix well.

4) Gently fold in the egg white into the mixture.

5) Pour tablespoonfuls of the batter onto the hot waffle iron.

6) Bake the waffles for 3 minutes.

SERVING

7) Serve the gingerbread waffles drizzled with maple syrup.
