Buttermilk Skillet Cake Recipe - 4K

Just like grandma used to make.


All purpose flour 2 1/2 Cup (40 tbs)
Baking powder 1 Tablespoon
Sugar 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)
Salt 1/2 Teaspoon
Eggs 2 Large
Buttermilk 1 1/2 Cup (24 tbs)
Butter 1/4 Cup (4 tbs)
Pure vanilla extract 1 Teaspoon
Turbinado sugar 3 Tablespoon


Getting Ready

Preheat oven to 400ºF (200ºC) 


Grease a 10" or 11" cast iron skillet. 

Combine flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt. 

In another bowl whisk the eggs, buttermilk, butter, and vanilla. 

Mix the dry into the wet until just combined. 

Scrape into the prepped skillet and sprinkle with the turbinado sugar. 

Bake for 20 - 25 minutes or until a cake tester comes out clean. 


Cool before serving.
