A fall classic! This simple to make cake is moist, delicious, and doesn't need an icing though butterscotch sauce is mighty tasty on it.
|Brown sugar||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Butter||1 Cup (16 tbs) (room temperature)|
|Pure vanilla extract||2 Teaspoon|
|Apples||6 , grated|
|Baking soda||2 Teaspoon|
|Ground cloves||2 Teaspoon|
|Chopped pecans||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Butterscotch sauce||To Taste (Homemade, for topping)|
Preheat oven to 350ºF (180ºC).
In a medium bowl, mix together dry ingredients.
In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar.
Add the eggs and mix well.
Stir in the vanilla.
Stir in the freshly grated apple.
Stir in the pecans.
Add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients and mix, just until incorporated.
Bake in a greased 9"×13" baking dish for 50 - 60 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
