Chophouse Steak Burger

This burger represents a Steak House On A Bun! Ground USDA Prime ribeye steak, whiskey reduction, fried onion, smoked bacon and a Texas Toast treatment on the potato rolls. Enjoy!


For patties
Ground steak 1 (prime ribeye steak used)
Bacon slices 2
Salt and pepper To Taste
For reduction
Whiskey 1 1/2 Cup (24 tbs) (Makers Mark)
Shallot 1 , minced
Brown sugar 1 Tablespoon
Olive oil 2 Tablespoon
Garlic clove 3 , minced
Balsamic vinegar 1 Tablespoon
Butter 1 Tablespoon
For topping
Onion slices 2 , breaded and fried
Potato rolls 2
Garlic butter 1 Tablespoon (with parsley and salt)
Gouda cheese 2 Tablespoon (as needed)
Arugula leaves 15 Gram (as needed)
Tomato slice 2



1. On a sheet on parchment paper, place bacon slices to look like a disc as shown in the video. Pop in freezer until set but not frozen.


For Sauce:

2. In a saucepan, combine whiskey, shallot, brown sugar, olive oil, garlic, balsamic vinegar, salt, and pepper. Place the pan on flame, bring it to a boil and then simmer until sauce thickens.

3. Remove pan from heat and stir in butter.

For Burger:

4. Preheat grill to 250 degree F.

5. Place bacon on grill, cover and smoke until crisped.

6. Divide meat into half and roll into patties. Season with salt and pepper on both sides.

7. Place patties on grill and cook until done. Top patties with crisped bacon and remove from grill. Let rest.

8. Toast rolls with some butter. When done place on a piece of foil and top with grated cheese. Cover and cook until cheese melts.


9. On the bottom slice of roll, lay some arugula and top it with tomato slice, patty with bacon, followed by fried onion slice and reduction sauce. Cover with the other half.


10. Serve immediately and enjoy!
