Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Brownies

A great fall treat combining pumpkin and chocolate, which go great together.

Ingredients

Canned pumpkin 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)
Egg 1 (whole egg
Low fat egg white 2
Canola oil/Vegetable oil 1 Tablespoon
Flour 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Baking powder 1 Teaspoon
Unsweetened cocoa powder 1 Teaspoon
Ground cinnamon 1/2 Teaspoon
Allspice 1/2 Teaspoon
Ground nutmeg 1/4 Teaspoon
Regular salt 1/4 Teaspoon
Dark brown sugar 2/3 Cup (10.67 tbs) (packed)
Semisweet chocolate chips 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)

Directions

GETTING READY

1. Preheat oven to 350°.

2. Line an 11" x 7" pan with parchment paper.

3. In a large bowl, combine pumpkin puree, eggs and oil until smooth. Set aside.

4. In a separate medium bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, spices, salt and brown sugar.

5. Add to the wet ingredients and mix until thoroughly incorporated. Stir in the chocolate chips.

MAKING

6. Pour the batter into prepared pan and spread evenly.

7. Bake for 20 minutes in the oven at 350 degrees F.

SERVING

8. Cut Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Brownies into pieces and serve with tea or coffee.
