Low Fat Chocolate Brownies

Unsweetened chocolate 2 Ounce , coarsley chopped
Pure vanilla extract 2 Teaspoon
Granulated sugar 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)
Salt 1/4 Teaspoon
Eggs 3 Large , lightly beaten
Egg white 2 Large , lightly beaten
Maple syrup/Honey 3/4 Cup (12 tbs)
Unsweetened apple sauce 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Canola oil 1/4 Cup (4 tbs)
Sifted cake flour 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Unsweetened cocoa powder 3/4 Cup (12 tbs)
Bittersweet chocolate 6 Ounce , coarsely chopped (optional)
Confectioners' sugar To Taste



1. Start by preheating the oven to 350°F


2. Take a 9-inch-square baking pan, and coat it lightly with vegetable oil spray, take parchment paper and line the bottom of the pan

3. In a boiler, on the top, melt the unsweetened chocolate with the vanilla, place over simmering water

4. Take out the melted chocolate and vanilla, and transfer it in a large mixing bowl, set aside and let it cool then mix in the sugar, salt, eggs, and egg whites, keep stirring until smooth

5. In a bowl, add syrup, applesauce, and oil and blend mixutre till it turns smooth, take the flour and cocoa and sprinkle over the batter, then fold in till it turns smooth

6. In the batter, sprinkle the chopped chocolate, if desired, fold it to combine it, make sure you don't overmix

6. In a pan, pour and scrape the batter

7. Finally bake for about 45 minutes

8. Once bake completely, take out the pan from the oven and set it on a wire rack to cool, sprinklewith confectioners' sugar and cut brownies into squares before serving


9. Serve with cookies, cream or coffee
