Betty's Holiday Almond Butter (or Peanut Butter) Bread with Spread

In this video, Betty demonstrates how to make Holiday Almond Butter Bread with Almond Butter Spread. Peanut Butter may be substituted for Almond Butter for a delicious Peanut Butter Bread and Peanut Butter Spread.

Ingredients

All purpose flour 2 Cup (32 tbs)
Brown sugar 1/2 Cup (8 tbs) , firmly packed
Baking powder 2 Teaspoon
Salt 1 Teaspoon
Almond butter 3/4 Cup (12 tbs) (or peanut butter)
Eggs 1 , well beaten
Milk 1 Cup (16 tbs)
For spread
Neufchatel cheese/Cream cheese 3 Ounce , softened
Almond butter 1/4 Cup (4 tbs) (or peanut butter)
Light brown sugar 1/4 Cup (4 tbs) , firmly packed

Directions

GETTING READY

1. In a large bowl, add all purpose flour, baking powder, and salt. Mix well.

2. Drop brown sugar and almond butter. With pastry blender, cut and mix almond butter in the flour until nice and crumbly.

3. Add egg and milk in the bowl. Mix just to combine.

4. Grease a 9-inch by 5-inch by 3-inch loaf pan with butter. Sprinkle flour in the pan, and transfer batter into it. Spread as shown in the video.

5. Preheat oven to 350 degree F.

MAKING

6. Place the loaf pan in oven and bake for 1 hour or until toothpick when inserted comes out clean in the deepest part.

7. Remove from oven and let bread cool in loaf pan for 10 minutes. Transfer it to a wire rack and let it cool completely.

8. Meanwhile, for spread in a small bowl take cheese and whip until light and fluffy.

9. Add almond butter, and brown sugar in it. Scrape off sides and blend to combine.

SERVING

10. Cut bread into slices and serve it warm with almond butter spread.

TIPS

Add Choco chips, toasted almonds or even roasted peanuts in batter before pouring it into the loaf pan.

If you do not have time to make bread, then serve spread with store bought bread slices.
