Reduced Sugar Banana Bread with Truvia Brown Sugar Blend

Whether its an afternoon treat, or a grab-and-go slice for breakfast, substituting Truvia Brown Sugar Blend for regular brown sugar makes this classic recipe even better.

I love that it has less than half the sugar of traditional banana bread and my family cant even tell the difference.

Ingredients

All purpose flour 1 1/4 Cup (20 tbs)
Baking powder 1 Teaspoon
Baking soda 1 Teaspoon
Salt 1/2 Teaspoon
Truvia brown sugar blend 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)
Butter 1/3 Cup (5.33 tbs) , softened
Ripe bananas 1 1/4 Cup (20 tbs) , mashed
Buttermilk 1/3 Cup (5.33 tbs)
Eggs 2 Large
Vanilla extract 1/2 Teaspoon

Directions

GETTING READY

1.  Preheat oven to 350° F. 

2.  Spray 9x5x3 inch loaf pan with non-stick spray.

 

MAKING

3.  Whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.4.  Cream together Truvía® Brown Sugar Blend and butter.5.  Add mashed bananas, buttermilk, eggs, and vanilla extract to sugar/butter mixture until well combined.6.  Lightly fold the banana mixture into the dry ingredients until just combined. The batter should be thick and chunky. Do not overmix.7.  Transfer batter to loaf pan. Bake until golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center of the loaf comes out clean (about 55 minutes).8.  Allow to cool in pan for 10 minutes. Remove loaf from pan and transfer to a wire rackSERVING

9.  Slice and serve.
