Making biscuits isn't hard to do. You can learn how to make biscuits from scratch in no time at all. This video is the 4th video in my learn to cook series where I cook through my old home economics cook book.

Ingredients

Flour 2 Cup (32 tbs)
Baking powder 3 Teaspoon
Salt 1 Teaspoon
Shortening 1/4 Cup (4 tbs)
Milk 3/4 Cup (12 tbs)
For dusting
Flour 2 Tablespoon

Directions

GETTING READY

1. Preheat oven to 450F.

MAKING

2. In a mixing bowl, place a sift, add flour, salt and baking powder and sift together. Add shortening and using a fork or a pastry blender mash it into the flour. Pour in the milk, and mix in to form a dough.

3. Dust a board with flour. Place the dough and roll to about 1/2 inch thickness. Using a round jar, cut the biscuits and place on an ungreased cookie sheet. Re-roll the leftover dough and cut few more biscuits.

4. Bake at 450F for 10 to 12 minutes.

SERVING

5. Serve with butter or sausage gravy or as desired.
