Biscuits And Gravy

Biscuits and gravy recipe - crunchy, flaky buttermilk biscuits with chorizo cream gravy. Perfect hearty breakfast for cold mornings. These easy drop biscuits are deliciously light and crisp and perfect to soak up creamy sausage gravy!


For biscuits:
Flour 1 3/4 Cup (28 tbs)
Baking powder 2 Teaspoon
Baking soda 1/2 Teaspoon
Salt 1/2 Teaspoon
Butter 4 Tablespoon
Buttermilk 1 Cup (16 tbs)
For gravy:
Breakfast sausage/Mexican chorizo 8 Ounce
Butter 2 Tablespoon
Flour 3 Tablespoon
Milk 2 Cup (32 tbs)



Preheat the oven to 450°F.



In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt and whisk well.

Add butter, buttermilk and mix well.

Spoon the mixture on baking sheet and pop into oven.

Bake for 12-15 minutes at 450°F.

For the gravy, cook sausage in a skillet. Once done, take out the sausage, leaving fat in the skillet.

Add butter and once it melts, whisk flour.

Cook flour and once it cooks gradually add milk. Allow to simmer until the mixture thickens.

Add sausage and turn off the heat.



Serve biscuits with sausage gravy and enjoy!
