Coffee Molasses Tri-tip

Ingredients

Instant coffee 4 Teaspoon (Compliments)
Hot water 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)
Garlic 3 Clove (15 gm) , mince
Sweet onion chipotle barbecue sauce 2/3 Cup (10.67 tbs) (Compliments)
Molasses 2 Tablespoon (Compliments fancy)
Tri tip
Salt 1 1/2 Teaspoon (or to taste)

Directions

GETTING READY

1. Preheat barbecue grill to medium-high.

MAKING

2 .Take a pan and combine coffee and hot water in it. Mix to dissolve.

3. Add garlic, barbecue sauce and molasses in pan. Mix, place the pan on low heat and allow it to simmer for about 2 minutes.

4. Pour sauce into a baking dish, reserving 2/3 cup for later use.

6. Place tri-tip steak into the dish, turn and coat the sauce evenly on it.

7. Season with salt, and place steak on grill. Cover it with lid, and cook for about 3 minutes each side, or until the surface becomes brown.

8. Reduce the heat to medium low, cover and cook for another 25 minutes.

9. In the last 5 minutes of cooking, brush 2 tablespoon of reserved sauce on streak. Turn and coat on all sides.

FINALIZING

10. Remove the streak from grill, allow it to rest for 10 minutes, and cut it against the grain into slices.

SERVING

11. Serve tri-tip steak hot with the remaining sauce.

TIPS

Use meat thermometer and check the temperature of your steak. A perfectly cooked steak should have an internal temperature of 145 degree.
