Homemade slow-cooked beef brisket in the oven, the next best thing to Texas smoked brisket!
Beef brisket | 10 Pound , excess fat trimmed and cut as shown in the video (1 no) | |
Black pepper | 6 Teaspoon | |
Salt | 1 Teaspoon | |
Onion powder | 1 Teaspoon | |
Smoked paprika | 1 Teaspoon | |
Dry mustard | 1 Teaspoon | |
Cayenne pepper | 1/2 Teaspoon (optional) |
GETTING READY:
Preheat oven to 250°F.
MAKING:
In a small bowl, combine black pepper, salt, onion powder, smoked paprika, dry mustard, cayenne pepper and mix well.
Sprinkle the rub all over the meat and press well.
Place on roasting pan with rack with fat side up. Cover with aluminium foil and pop into oven.
Bake covered for 6-14 hours and when brisket turns soft and jiggly uncover the meat.
Allow to rest for 30 minutes to 1 hour and slice against the grain.
