Simple Baked Beans

This is a very basic easy baked bean recipe - from these basics you can add your own flair and flavor.


White beans 750 Milliliter , soaked overnight (3 cups)
Chopped bacon 250 Gram (1/2 pound)
Onion 1 Medium
Ground black pepper 1/2 Teaspoon
Dry mustard 1/2 Teaspoon
Water 1/2 Liter (just enough to cover beans in pot)
Fancy molasses 75 Milliliter (1/3 cup)
Salt 2 Teaspoon



1. Soak beans in water overnight. Drain and rinse before using.

2. Preheat oven to 300 degree F or 150 degree C.


3. Into the Dutch oven, add beans, chopped bacon, onion, mustard, molasses, salt, and pepper.

4. Pour water to cover the beans.

5. Cover with lid, pop it in oven and bake for about 6 hours. Stir occasionally and add water if beans are dry.


6. Serve on toast and enjoy!
