Bay leaf | 1 , crumbled | |
Salt | 1 Tablespoon | |
Pepper | 1/8 Teaspoon | |
Dry white wine | 1 Cup (16 tbs) |
MAKING
(1) In a large kettle, combine beans, water, pork hock, onion, and bay leaf.
(2) Cover and place on a medium low flame
(3) Simmer for 1 hour.
(4) Stir in the remaining ingredients and continue simmering for another 45 minutes.
(5) Carefully lift out the pork hock onto a platter and remove and discard onion and bayleaf.
(6) Shred meat off the bones and cut into chunks
(7) Add pork to and beans and mix
SERVING
(8) Serve the beans and pork stew with crusty bread or over rice.
