All purpose flour | 1 Cup (16 tbs) (250 mL) | |
Ground cinnamon | 1 Tablespoon | |
Baking powder | 1/2 Teaspoon (2 ml) | |
Salt | 1 Pinch | |
Packed brown sugar | 1 Cup (16 tbs) (250 mL) | |
Butter | 1/4 Cup (4 tbs) , melted (50 ml) | |
Eggs | 1 | |
Pure vanilla extract | 2 Teaspoon | |
Chocolate chips | 1/2 Cup (8 tbs) (125 mL) | |
Chopped pecans | 1/2 Cup (8 tbs) (125 mL) |
GETTING READY
1. Preheat oven to 350 degree F or 180 degrees C.
2. Line 8" square baking pan with parchment.
MAKING
3. In a bowl, mix flour, cinnamon, baking powder and salt. Set aside.
4. In a large bowl mix brown sugar, butter, egg and vanilla until well blended.
5. Add the flour mixture into the bowl with egg mixture and mix just until moist.
6. Stir in chocolate chips and pecans.
7. Spread the batter into prepared baking pan. Pop in oven and bake for 20-22 minutes or until cake tester inserted in centre comes out almost clean.
8. Remove pan from oven and cool in pan on wire rack then cut into bars.
