Fancy molasses | 125 Milliliter (1/2 cup) | |
Melted butter | 50 Milliliter (1/4 cup) | |
Vanilla | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
Sifted flour | 175 Gram (1 cup) | |
Coarse salt | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
Baking soda | 1/8 Teaspoon | |
Chopped nuts | 85 Gram (3/4 cup, pecans used) | |
Chopped dates | 190 Gram |
GETTING READY
1. Preheat oven to 350 degree F or 180 degree C.
2. Grease and line a 9-inch square cake pan with parchment paper. Set aside.
MAKING
3. In a mixing bowl, whisk egg, and then add sugar, Fancy Molasses, butter and vanilla. Mix well.
4. In a separate bowl, combine flour, salt, and baking soda. Mix well.
5. Add dry mixture, nuts and dates into the bowl with wet ingredients. Mix thoroughly.
6. Pour batter into the square cake pan, spread evenly and pop it in oven. Bake for about 40 minutes.
7. Remove from oven and let it cool completely on a rack.
SERVING
8. Cut into bars and serve.
