In this video, Betty demonstrates how to make Vanilla Wafer Bourbon Balls. Bourbon Balls are a traditional sweet treat in Kentucky. Below is a recipe where all ingredients are halved, making about 2 dozen small Bourbon Balls.

Vanilla wafer 1 1/4 Cup (20 tbs) , crush (measure after crushing)
Confectioners sugar 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)
Cocoa 1 Tablespoon
Chopped pecans 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)
Whiskey 1/4 Cup (4 tbs) (Bourbon whisky)
Light corn syrup 1 1/2 Cup (24 tbs) (Karo light corn syrup or you may substitute another syrup)
For rolling
Confectioners sugar 1/2 Cup (8 tbs) (or more as needed)

1. In a bowl, combine crushed vanilla wafer, confectioner's sugar, cocoa, and chopped pecans. Mix well.

2. In a separate bowl, combine corn syrup and Bourbon whisky. Mix well.

3. Pour corn syrup mixture into the bowl with wafer. Mix to combine.

4. Form into teaspoon-sized balls and roll in confectioner's sugar.

5. On a serving dish, place the balls and cover with plastic wrap. Pop it in refrigerator until set.

6. Serve vanilla wafer Bourbon balls as a dessert.

You may store these balls in a tightly covered container for several days before serving.
