Kalbi Marinated Beef Kabobs in the Pit Barrel

Kalbi marinated beef kabobs in the Pit Barrel cooker. I must say that this is my all time favorite marinade to use. You have to try this.

Ingredients

Soy sauce 2 Cup (32 tbs)
Maple syrup 2 Cup (32 tbs)
Granulated sugar 1 1/4 Cup (20 tbs)
Yellow onion 1 , peeled, quartered
Scallions 4 , coarsely chopped
Peeled garlic cloves 1/3 Cup (5.33 tbs) (about 13 cloves)
Kiwi fruit 1 Small , peeled, cut into chunks
Asian pear 1/2 , peeled, cored, cut into chunks
Sprite/7 up
Fresh squeezed orange juice 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)
Asian sesame oil 1/3 Cup (5.33 tbs)
Mirin 1/3 Cup (5.33 tbs)
Toasted sesame seed 4 Tablespoon
Fresh ground black pepper 1 1/2 Teaspoon
Other ingredients
Cubed beef 2 Pound
Mixed cut vegetables 1 Pound (bell pepper and onion)

Directions

GETTING READY

For Marinade:

1. In blender, add soy sauce, maple syrup, sugar, onion, scallions, garlic, kiwi, pear, sprite, orange juice, sesame oil, sesame seed, black pepper, and mirin. Blend well.

2. In zip lock bag, place the beef cubes and veggies. Pour marinade, seal the bag and let rest overnight.

3. Preheat the pit barrel with apple and cherry wood.

MAKING

4. Into stainless steel skewers, thread the veggies and beef cubes.

5. Hang the skewers in the pit barrel as shown in the video. Cover and cook for an hour.

SERVING

6. Serve with steamed rice and enjoy!
