Healthier Meat Jeon

Korean recipes are always far away from my kitchen! But this one is really a yummy preparation and I have started preparing this very often Give it a try and you will like it too!


Main ingredients:
Whole wheat flour 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)
Low calorie oil 2 Tablespoon
Eggs 3 Medium
Salt To Taste
Beef ingredients:
Lean beef/Lean meat 1/2 Pound , thin cut
Low sodium soy sauce 1 Tablespoon
Green onion 1 Tablespoon , chopped finely
Garlic 1 Teaspoon , minced
Low calorie sugar substitute 1 Teaspoon
Water 1 Teaspoon
Low calorie oil 1 Teaspoon
Black pepper 2 Pinch



1. Cut the beef into about 1.5 x 3 inch rectangle slices.

2. In a bowl, mix all the ingredients for the beef, except the beef itself.

3. Add the beef to the sauce and marinate it for at least 20 minutes.

4. In a wide bottomed dish, put all-purpose flour with 3 pinches of salt. Set aside.

5. In another wide bottomed dish, break and mix eggs with 3 pinches of salt.


6. Cover each piece of the marinated beef with some flour evenly. Dip the flour covered beef into the egg mixture to cover it with egg evenly.

7. In a non – stick pan, pour in the oil and place the egg covered beef. Fry it on medium-high. When one side becomes nicely golden brown, flip the beef and cook on the other side until it becomes golden brown.


8. Serve the Meat Jeon with chili – honey sauce.
