These little beef bites make a great party appetizer!
Sirloin beef steak | 1/2 Pound | |
Low sodium soy sauce | 1 Tablespoon (or gluten | |
Brown sugar | 1 Teaspoon | |
Sesame oil | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
Garlic | 1 Clove (5 gm) , minced | |
Grated ginger | 1/2 Teaspoon (fresh) | |
Rice crackers | 120 Gram (24) | |
Kimchi | 1/2 Cup (8 tbs) , prepared | |
Green onion | 1 , very thinly sliced on the diagonal |
GETTING READY
1. Thinly slice the steak into at least 24 pieces.
2. In a large bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger. Whisk well.
3. Add the steak and mix to coat. Marinate for at least 10 minutes at room temperature or up to 24 hours in the refrigerator.
MAKING
4. Heat a grill pan or cast iron pan over high flame.
5. Drop steak pieces in hot pan and cook for about 1-2 minutes per side, depending on the thickness of meat. Cook the steak in batches and avoid overcrowding the pan.
SERVING
6. To serve, on each rice cracker layer a slice of steak, little bit of kimchi, and garnish with green onion.
TIPS
If you are using flank steak, make sure to slice across the grain.
