Classic Oriental Beef Ring

Chow mein noodles 3 Ounce (1 Can)
Tomato sauce with onions 8 Ounce
Eggs 2 , beaten
Chopped celery 1/4 Cup (4 tbs)
Soy sauce 2 Tablespoon
Ground ginger 1/4 Teaspoon
Ground beef textured vegetable protein mixture
Packed brown sugar 1 Tablespoon
Soy sauce 1 Teaspoon
Frozen peas 10 Ounce (1 Package)
Margarine/Butter 1 Tablespoon


Crush 1 1/2 cups of the noodles.

Combine with 3/4 cup of the tomato sauce; let stand 5 minutes.

Combine next 4 ingredients and noodle mixture.

Add ground beef-textured vegetable protein mixture; mix well.

Press into greased 5-cup ring mold.

Invert on foil-lined shallow baking pan; remove mold.

Bake at 350° for 40 to 45 minutes.

Combine remaining tomato sauce, sugar, and the 1 teaspoon soy sauce; brush on ring.

Return to oven for 2 to 3 minutes.

Meanwhile, cook peas according to package directions; drain.

Toss with margarine; stir in remaining noodles.

Serve peas in the center of meat ring.
