How to Make Asian Lettuce Wraps! This recipe is so great to make for a quick weeknight meal, they are so easy! These lettuce wraps can be made with ground pork or ground turkey.
Grapeseed oil | 1 Tablespoon | |
Ground turkey | 1 Pound (or use pork or a mixture) | |
Minced garlic | 1 1/2 Tablespoon | |
Scallion | 4 , sliced | |
Grated ginger | 1/2 Teaspoon (1/4 | |
Soy sauce | 1 Tablespoon | |
Canned water chestnut | 8 Ounce , drained and chopped | |
Hoisin sauce | 3 Tablespoon | |
Sriracha | 1 Tablespoon | |
Firm tofu | 14 Ounce , drained and cut into cubes (container) | |
Sesame oil | 2 Teaspoon | |
For serving | ||
Cooked rice | 1 Cup (16 tbs) (as needed) | |
Butter lettuce leaf | 4 (as needed) |
MAKING
1. Place a skillet over medium high flame for couple of minutes and pour 1 tablespoon of grapeseed oil in it.
2. Add ground turkey and cook for about 5 minutes or until browned and cooked through.
3. Add 1 ½ tablespoons of minced garlic, scallion and stir around for 60 seconds or until aromatic.
4. Add ginger and soy sauce. Stir and scrape out brown bits from the bottom of the skillet.
5. Add water chestnut, hoisin sauce, sriracha, tofu and sesame oil, stirring after each addition. Cook for about 3 minutes, stirring occasionally.
SERVING
6. Fill lettuce leaf with rice and a big spoonful of meat mixture. Serve and enjoy!
