Baked Apples With Raisin

Cooking apples 4 , cored
Demerara sugar 4 Tablespoon
Raisins 4 Tablespoon
Currants 1 Tablespoon
Ground almonds 1 Teaspoon
Cinnamon 1 Teaspoon
Water 4 Tablespoon



1) With a sharp knife make gashes around the middle of apples.

2) Place the apples on a large microwavable, shallow container.


3) In a bowl, stir together the sugar, raisins, currants, ground almonds and cinnamon, to mix well.

4) Stuff each apple well with this mixture.

5) Sprinkle any remaining mixture around the apples.

6) Put the lid in and cook for about 5 minutes, depending on the size of the apples.

7) Leave to stand for 5-10 minutes.


8) Serve hot with cream or custard sauce if desired.
