Betty's Panko Crusted Fried Chicken Strips Served with Waffles

Betty demonstrates how to make Panko Crusted Chicken Strips Served with Waffles. This makes a great Southern entree!


Boneless skinless chicken breast 3 Pound , cut into strips
Salt To Taste
Pepper To Taste
Peanut oil 2 Cup (32 tbs)
Butter 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)
Panko bread crumbs 2 Cup (32 tbs)
For serving
Waffles 8
Corn starch 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Egg wash:
Honey 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)
Egg 2
Water 2 Tablespoon



1. Preheat oven to 400F. In a shallow bowl, place corn starch. In another similar bowl, mix together water and egg to make egg wash and in the third bowl place panko bread crumbs. Line a tray with foil.


2. Season the chicken strip with salt and pepper. In a large skillet, heat oil along with butter to 350 - 375F. Using a tong take a chicken strip, coat with corn starch, dip in egg wash and finally dredge it with bread crumbs, place in a tray lined with foil.

3. Once all the chicken strips are coated, place then in the skillet with heated oil, once brown from the bottom side, turn to brown the other side.

4. Place in a 400F oven for about 15 to 20 minutes, flip once when half done. Transfer to paper towel.


5. Place chicken strip on waffle, drizzle with honey and serve.
